The foundation for our trainings:

A half-century of research into leader-follower relationships has shown that the strength of the leader-follower relationship is correlated to the level of productivity. Additionally, studies on the development of  leader-follower relationships over time have shown that strength of a relationship is established early in the relationship.

We have conducted original research on the development leader-follower relationships that provide additional nuance to this existing research. Key results that drive our trainings:

  • Alignment between leaders and followers is greater when a leader is consistent in strategy.

  • The level at which a leader chooses to recognize or reward a follower can influence the willingness of followers to contribute their time and effort and the strength of their relationship.

  • By changing their behavior and being consistent with the new behavior, leaders can change the actions of followers and the strength of the their relationship with followers.

  • Good outcomes can still arise from laissez-faire leadership, but the outcomes are dependent on the goodness of the behaviors chosen by the follower.
